Trypanosomatids 10VL and 12VL

Two cultures (10VL and 12VL) were obtained from Dysdercus sp. (fam. Pyrrhocoridae, Heteroptera), collected during the dry season on a vegetation along a small Rio Tarcolitos (left) near Parque Nacional Carara. The photo on the right shows the same site after a flood that occurred in June after the onset of the rain season.

Isolate 10VL. Most cells have only a very short flagellum.
